My Journey:

I’ve been ploughing through the digital industry since 2002 in both permanent, but mainly freelancing rolls ever since.
As a young Padawan I trained at the esteemed Ogilvy school, Red & Yellow Creative School as an Art Director & Graphic design student. I began my early years of employment entering the digital age of flash animation in all its forms from cd rom multimedia, web banners all the way to interactive media. When I wasn’t animating I was begrudgingly batching out UI designs for websites and emailers.

Fast forward to the imminent death of Adobe Flash (which never happened quite they way I had expected), the Rise of After Effects, Video Copilot, School of Motion & Cinema 4D!
I soon realised I was always in love with 2D/3D motion graphics & illustration. I shed my old skin, armed with my years of industry experience and began the process of retraining.
Let me make one note. There is no such thing as peaking in the mograph industry. I will forever remain humble and open to growth. If I can’t solve a client problem, I will learn on the go.
This is the mantra of all great creatives.

About Me:

I’m a Jesus loving, happily married husband and father to three stunning, yet challenging kiddos.
I was born in SA and reside in the UK. I love baking sourdough bread, making pizza & biltong.
Gardening and binge-watching tellie chills me out. I’d like to tell you my hobby, but being a creative, it’s my job!

Staying Plugged In:

As a motion designer I like to stay plugged into a design community. Following the top talent, regularly catching up for beers with like-minded talent, watching the latest tutorials and attending motion conferences where I’ve been lucky enough to meet my some of the greats like of Ej Hassenfratz of eyedesyn, Henry & Thomas Purrington of Golden Wolf and Andrew Kramer of Video Copilot. I’m also a School of Motion contributor. Writing articles for them as I learn new tricks for my own toolbox. I also have my own YouTube channel where I record and share tips.
